  1. CSsEv: Modelling QoS Metrics in Tree Soft Toward Cloud Services Evaluator based on Uncertainty Environment.Mona Gharib, Florentin Smarandache & Mona Mohamed - 2024 - International Journal of Neutrosophic Science 23 (2):32-41.
Cloud computing (ClC) has become a more popular computer paradigm in the preceding few years. Quality of Service (QoS) is becoming a crucial issue in service alteration because of the rapid growth in the number of cloud services. When evaluating cloud service functioning using several performance measures, the issue becomes more complex and non-trivial. It is therefore quite difficult and crucial for consumers to choose the best cloud service. The user's choices are provided in a quantifiable manner in the current (...)

Sociodemographic characteristics, moral sensitivity, and moral distress as predictors of nurses’ ageism toward older adults.Parvaneh Vasli, Erfan Pourshahri, Kosar Pourhasan & Nasim Khajavian - forthcoming - Ethics and Behavior.
The present study aimed to reflect on the predictive role of socio-demographic characteristics (SDCs), moral sensitivity (MS) and moral distress (MD) in nurses’ ageism toward older adults. A total of 145 nurses were recruited to complete the main research instruments, i.e. a Sociodemographic Information Form, the Tool for Evaluating Ageism in Nursing Care of Older People, the Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire and the Moral Distress Scale. The results of the study confirmed that gender and MS could predict nurses’ ageism toward older (...)

Is respecting children's rationality in their best interest in an authoritarian context?Parvaneh Ghazinejad & Claudia Ruitenberg - 2014 - Ethics and Education 9 (3):317-328.
Based on the experiences of one of the authors teaching philosophy for children in Iran, the paper asks whether respecting children's rationality, in the form of cultivating their ability and disposition to think critically, is in their best interest in an authoritarian context such as Iran. It argues that, in authoritarian contexts, respect for children's capacity for rational thought must be balanced with responsibility for their safety in their community. In other words, children's ‘best interest’ must consider children both as (...)

An Experience in P4C Some Observations on Philosophy for Children with Iranian Primary School Children.Saeed Naji & Parvaneh Ghazinezhad - 2012 - Thinking: The Journal of Philosophy for Children 20 (1-2):82-87.
To investigate the effect of philosophical thinking on the development of reasoning skills and behavioral performance among Iranian primary school students, we conducted a qualitative method study with ten fourth grade students (including boys and girls)selected from different primary schools in Tehran1. We also study the reactions of children and their parents to this new method of education, which thoroughly differs from the method practiced in our schools now. This study was carried out in the Institute for Humanities and Cultural (...)

Ein Blick in den Stollen von Skepsis: Vier Kapitel zur frühen Uberlieferung des Corpus Aristotelicum.Oliver Primavesi - 2007 - Philologus: Zeitschrift für Antike Literatur Und Ihre Rezeption 151 (1):51-77.
The purpose of the paper is to defend a modified version of the report given by Strabo about the transmission of the writings of Aristotle during the Hellenistic period. The basic dilemma was pointed out by Dom Jean Liron in 1717: The existence of our Corpus Aristotelicum entails that Strabo must be exaggerating either in assuming that the manuscripts brought by Neleus to Scepsis were the only manuscripts of the Aristotelian and Theophrastean writings, or in asserting that these manuscripts were (...)

    Aristotle's biology and his lost homeric puzzles.Robert Mayhew - 2015 - Classical Quarterly 65 (1):109-133.
Diogenes Laertius' list of Aristotle's works includes a Homeric Puzzles in six books, as does the list in the biography of Aristotle attributed to Hesychius. This latter also includes a Homeric Problems in ten books, which appears to be the same as an item in the biography attributed to Ptolemy al-Gharib. The later and more derivative Vita Marciana attributes to Aristotle a Homeric Questions. The only other reference to the title of such a work by Aristotle is from the (...)

  9. Preserving the semantic structure of Islamic key terms and concepts: Izutsu, al-Attas, and al-Raghib al-Isfahani.Syamsuddin Arif - 2007 - Islam & Science 5 (2):107 (10).
This article compares the elucidation of the semantic structure and fixity of a number of key terms and concepts of the Qur'an by two contemporary scholars, Toshihiko Izutsu (1914-1993) and Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas (1931--), with that of al-Raghib al-Isfahani (d. ca 443/1060), the author of the celebrated Kitab al-mufradat fi gharib al-Qur'an. By 'key terms and concepts' are meant those words used by the Qur'an which play a decisive role in making up the basic conceptual structure of the (...)

The Effect of Ibn al-Ṣalāḥ on the Development of the Term of Ḥasan Ḥadīth.Fatih GÜMÜŞ - 2021 - Cumhuriyet İlahiyat Dergisi 25 (3):1231-1252.
It is well-known that Ibn al-Salāh al-Shahrazūrī (d. 643/1245) has an important place in the field of hadith methodology. In this context, it is possible to see Ibn-al Salah’s influence in a large proportion of the hadith terminology. The fact that the term ḥasan was not substantially included in the hadith method studies before Ibn-al Salah and that this concept became widely known in the field after him led to study the contributions of al Salah on the subject of ḥasan (...)
